Easter Lamb Cake
My grandmother handed down this Lamb pan to me and I was so honored! I hope to make her proud with this cake. This Easter Lamb cake is a lemon pound cake covered in butter cream. I made cupcakes with the leftover batter and sprinkled a few flowers and jelly beans on the grass. The egg ears are another story. I made these ears for some bunny cup cakes I was planning on making but the peanut butter cupcakes turned out horribly (I think because I used unsalted/organic peanut butter). I was going to make a new batch to finish the bunny cakes but then my son got sick so I scrapped the whole project and used the ears for this cake since I don't like things going to waste! Happy Easter :)

Cali Lily Fondant Cake
This is a Banana Cake covered in fondant that I made at my class. We learned how to make gum paste cali lilly's so I put this together quickly and froze the cake for later use on sculpting projects.

Thomas the Train Birthday Cake
This cake is for my nephew's 3 Birthday. It made my day when he said a few times that he loved this cake! This was so much fun to make. The cake is my first strawberry cake and it got good reviews. I used a 16 inch pan that hardly fit in my oven...so I had to cook it on the top shelf which posed a bit of a problem..but I was able to piece the cake together and nobody noticed the flaw's. Thoma's face was probably my 6th attempt but I loved the way it turned out. I carved the trains out of cake and covered with fondant. The water is piping gel tinted blue over blue fondant. Track is twizzlers, rocks are 2 different candy and the mountain is part of a stacked round cake covered in crushed chocolate wafer cookies.

Fondant Cake
I made this cake for my cake decorating class that I am now taking. This is an almond cake and is very yummy! This is my 2nd time covering a cake with fondant and this time it was much easier. I quickly decorated it a few different ways.

Tangled Castle Cake
This cake is for my niece's birthday, her theme was Disney's "Tangled" so I tried to mimic the movie a little with this princess castle cake. This is my first 3 tiered cake. The top pillar is rice treats covered with fondant so that I could carve out the window. The rest of the pillar's are fondant and all of the tops are ice cream cones. The cake is vanilla with a chocolate moose filling. This is my favorite filling yet, so yummy and fluffy. I loved making this cake!

Flower Basket Cake
Here is a flower basket cake with the basket-weave technique that I have been wanting to try. I made the flowers (roses, lily's, pansies, daffodil's) from royal icing and the flowers on the side are a few fondant flowers that I had left over from the last cake. I could still use practice with flower making but I thought this cake turned out pretty and just in time for spring!

Monogramed Cascading Flowers Bridal Shower Cake
This is my first Bridal Shower Cake and my biggest challenge was getting the icing smooth and even. It is a little easier with some new tools but still a challenge! I call this a White Velvet Cake with chocolate fudge filling. There is sour cream in the cake recipe which makes the cake extra fluffy and velvety. The monogram letter is made out of fondant that I tried to die periwinkle and I added sugar pearls for the border. The flowers are also fondant and the dots are royal icing. Everything is dusted with silver eatable pearl dust. I need to find the trick for cake color bleeding through white frosting...I guess just spread it on thicker next time. I hope the bride-to-be enjoys the cake!

Baby Boy Present Cake
This cake was for my cousin's baby shower today. It is Red Velvet cake with Cream Cheese frosting. This was my first square stacked cake. I had some trouble with the frosting which was more of a whipped icing so it was difficult to get smooth so I tried my decorating comb and need more practice with it! The ducks and rattles I made with chocolate, the booties are marshmallow and the bow and sign are fondant. This was my second try at a bow and it came out so much better then the first time. I had so much fun with this cake and it was very yummy!

Baby Shower Push Cake
This is a two tiered baby shower "push" cake. It is Red Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese frosting. I made the people out of fondant. This is my first attempt at making figures so I will try not to be too hard on myself!

St Patrick's Day Cup Cakes
These were delicious! I never would have thought that I would like lime filling but paired with the vanilla cake and cream cheese frosting, these were amazing!

Abby Cadabby Birthday Cake
Abby Cadabby Birthday Cake for a 3 year old little girl. Chocolate cake with strawberry filling and vanilla buttercream. I had some trouble with the filling buckling out the middle, so again I learned so much from doing this cake. I still need to learn how to make the buttercream perfect so that I can get a smooth finish. Hopefully my new stand mixer will help! Abby's face is all fondant and buttercream but the night before deadline my husband decided to move Abby's face off the counter and broke her left ponytail! So the end product is a little off color to the right ponytail. The birthday girl recognized Abby on the cake so I know it was a success! I had fun once again with this cake.

Bridal Shower Cupcakes
These are cup cakes I made for a Bridal Shower. I really enjoyed making these and it was a lot less stressful then making a cake! These are my first gum paste flowers which were super easy to make. The order was for simple so I hope they like these! I added a few sugar pearls on top.

Tyson's Birthday Cake Topper
At first I made a Mickey Face out of chocolate but it is way to heavy to stand up on top of his cake so I made this one which is a cookie. I made 4 of them just in case! Now we will have a huge chocolate Mickey and 3 huge cookies to enjoy at his party on Sunday. I can not believe my baby turns 1year old in 5 days!!!! Hope I can figure out how to make this cookie stand on top of the cake.

The beginnings of Tyson's Birthday Cake
Here is a sneak preview of Tyson's 1st Birthday Cake, I am just so excited to be making this cake but can not believe my baby is almost a year old! The cake will be Mickey Mouse theme but I could not resist also making these adorable fondant animals.

Scott's Birthday Cake
This cake was for a friend's birthday. My husband is a Yankee fan so he was not impressed, although he is a big fan of my work and very supportive! I had so much fun with this one. It was my first "sculpted" cake and I always wanted to use my grass tip. For each cake I had to buy new supplies but at this point I have the "Wilton master tip set" so I am set in the tip category! Who knew there were so many cake decorating supplies. Again, this cake is buttercream because I am afraid to cover with fondant just yet, plus some people do not like the taste of fondant. Next up, my son's first birthday cake! I am so excited and have the cake sketched out. Wait for the posting in a few weeks....it's a Mickey Mouse Cake!
Mom's Birthday Cake
This was my mother's birthday cake. I did not spend as much time with this one and it show's! I am having trouble managing my time because I can only work on the cakes during nap times during the week and sometimes I can get really stressed out! My son comes first but with cakes there are deadlines so this is what I am struggling with. Will I be able to manage a cake business with my 1 year old being my first priority?
First Baby Shower Cake
This was my baby sister's baby shower cake! I stressed about it for months but was so happy to make a special cake for her. I learned that a cake made from love is so amazing and at this point my heart was beginning to really want to make something out of this hobby. This was my first stacked cake which caused me the most stress. Staking is so much harder then it looks! The cake was a Vanilla Velvet Cake with strawberry filling and was VERY yummy. I was not yet confident in covering the cakes with fondant so I used buttercream but the decoration are fondant. I learned from my previous cakes so the bugs are made out of gum paste.
Some progress - Friend's Birthday Cake
This cake was a birthday cake for a friend. I made marshmallow fondant which taste better but difficult to get to the right consistency. I had a LOT of trouble with the bow but again I learned a lot from this cake! I now know to use part gum paste or all gum paste for bow type decorations. I did better with stacking the cake and even torted it making 4 thin layers.
